A practical review order
Use this checklist to organise the records needed for a consistent pay review before comparing your result with payroll. It is general information, not payroll, legal or industrial-relations advice.
Record your Health Service, Metro or WACHS location, DIT or Senior Practitioner classification, increment, FTE and employment effective date. These details determine which context applies on the work date.
Place the payslip dates beside the matching roster, shift records and leave records so work is reviewed in the period where payroll processed it.
Compare the classification, increment and date-effective salary shown by your source records, then confirm contracted or ordinary hours have been represented correctly.
Review actual start and finish times, breaks, weekends and public holidays. Keep the dated roster or shift evidence that supports each period worked.
Distinguish rostered on-call from attended or remote recall, check any overlap, and retain the relevant roster context instead of treating every payment as one generic hourly rate.
Review allowances, leave, deductions, tax and super as separate items. A matching net payment can still hide a difference within an individual component.
Keep the calculation and supporting records together. If something appears different, first raise it with your manager or the appropriate payroll contact and record the outcome.
